History of Wedding Ring Pillows

Also known as a wedding ring cushion, the ring bearer pillow has long been a wedding custom in many cultures. Since the wedding rings are of vital importance, not only usually made of costly precious metals, but also symbolizing the love and commitment of the impending marriage.

Since the rings do symbolize the important commitment about to take place, it seems only natural that they are highlighted during the ceremony. The ring bearer or page boy is usually a young child who walks down the aisle carrying a white satin pillow onto which two false rings are displayed. In some cases, couples choose to use the actual rings, in which case they may be secured onto the pillow using thread or ribbon.
